The old "×7" rule is a myth. Modern research shows dogs age on an epigenetic clock — fast in their first two years, then slowing down. Small dogs age slower and live longer than large breeds. This calculator uses the formula: Human Age = 16 × ln(dog age) + 31, adjusted for breed size.
